Chihamba African American Cultural Arts Festival: Food Vendor

$250.00

We invite local restaurants, caterers, and mobile food vendors to apply for a food vendor space at this year’s Chihamba African American Cultural Arts Festival. Held at Jackson P. Burley Middle School in Charlottesville, our festival attracts a diverse, family-friendly audience eager to enjoy cultural performances, live entertainment, and great cuisine.

By becoming a food vendor, you will:

  • Showcase Your Culinary Offerings: Delight festival-goers with unique menu items and fresh flavors.

  • Engage the Community: Connect directly with residents and visitors who appreciate supporting diverse, local food businesses.

  • Contribute to a Cherished Tradition: Join Charlottesville's longest-running African American Cultural Arts Festival, fostering unity and community engagement.

Vendor Space & Setup

Each approved food vendor will be assigned a space with enough room for necessary cooking equipment or a food truck. If you have specific requirements (e.g., electricity, water access), please note these on your application so we can try to accommodate.

Fees & Deadlines

  • A non-refundable vendor fee helps offset festival expenses such as venue rental, utilities, and security.

  • Exact fee amounts and payment deadlines are listed on the application.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Licensing & Permits: All food vendors must comply with local and state health regulations and hold the appropriate permits.

  • Insurance: A valid certificate of liability insurance may be required.

  • Food Safety: Vendors are expected to follow best practices for food handling, preparation, and service, ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for all attendees.
